2025 Review and Looking Ahead to 2026 in Metal Fabrication

A reflection from Stuart Rawlinson, Sales Director

As we move into 2026, Grenville Engineering does so from a position of strength, built on the progress achieved throughout 2025. The past year was defined by steady growth, continued investment and the commitment of a skilled workforce, all of which have carried momentum into the start of the new year.

Throughout 2025, the business experienced consistent and sustainable growth, underpinned by strong customer relationships and reliable delivery. Over the course of the year, 670,229 parts were manufactured and supplied, representing well over half a million components produced across a wide range of projects. This level of output was achieved through the combined efforts of our workforce, whose experience, flexibility and attention to detail remain central to our success.

Many of the projects delivered during the year were bespoke, requiring early design input and close collaboration among customers, engineers, and production teams. By combining practical manufacturing knowledge with engineering experience, Grenville continues to deliver solutions that are efficient, robust and tailored to real-world applications.

Investment remained a key focus in 2025. The year saw the addition of two CNC machining centres, expanding our machining capacity and allowing more processes to be completed in-house. Alongside this, further investment in laser cutting technology enhanced accuracy, throughput and capability across our metal fabrication operations. These investments support both complex one-off projects and repeat production, giving customers greater consistency and control.

Grenville continued to be a trusted manufacturing partner across a diverse range of industries, with particularly strong activity in earthmoving, petrochemical, renewable energy, medical, and site services. This breadth reflects the adaptability of our capabilities and the depth of knowledge within our teams.

The start of 2026 has been equally encouraging, with January already showing a strong trading position and a healthy order book. This positive momentum mirrors wider trends within UK manufacturing, where investment, innovation and reshoring continue to support long-term resilience despite ongoing challenges. Grenville’s focus on capability, people and partnership places the business well within this evolving landscape.

Industry engagement remains important, and 2026 marks our 10th year exhibiting at Subcon, taking place on 3rd and 4th June at Stand E61. The exhibition remains a valuable opportunity to connect with customers, discuss upcoming projects, and showcase how our metal fabrication and machining services are evolving.

While 2025 focused on strengthening manufacturing capability, the year ahead will also see continued investment in the working environment, including office improvements and new furniture, supporting collaboration and wellbeing across the business.

As we look ahead, Grenville Engineering enters 2026 with confidence. With steady growth behind us, ongoing investment, and a highly experienced workforce, we remain committed to delivering quality, reliability, and long-term value to customers across UK manufacturing.
