We are pleased to announce a significant technological advancement at Grenville Engineering. Our latest acquisition, the Hurco VM20i, marks a pivotal investment of £60,000 and represents the company’s first Vertical CNC milling machine. This strategic move underscores our ongoing commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in precision manufacturing.
A 40-Year Legacy of Excellence
For over 40 years, Grenville Engineering has earned a prestigious reputation for excellence in precision manufacturing and bespoke fabrication services. With the integration of the Hurco VM20i, we are bringing more essential capabilities in-house. This addition enhances our already extensive portfolio of advanced machinery, some of which includes CNC Bystronic and Trumpf lasers, Bison tube laser, a range of Bystronic press brakes, and a CNC Trumpf punch.
State-of-the-Art Features of the Hurco VM20i
The Hurco VM20i, a 3-axis machining centre, has state-of-the-art features designed to elevate our operational efficiency. Its heavily ribbed fine-grade cast iron frame, optimised with finite element analysis, guarantees superior stability and precision. The machine’s 12,000 RPM spindle (CAT 40 Big Plus) and Yaskawa Sigma V Digital AC Servos deliver outstanding speed and reliability.
Enhanced Machining Capabilities
With an X, Y, Z axis travel of 40 x 20 x 20 inches (1,016 x 508 x 508 mm) and a table size of 46 x 20 inches (1,168 x 508 mm), the Hurco VM20i significantly enhances our machining capabilities. The tool changer, accommodating 24 tools with a maximum tool diameter of 3.1 inches (80 mm) and a maximum tool length of 9.8 inches (250 mm), ensures both flexibility and efficiency.
