CNC Machining and Milling at Grenville Engineering: Precision, Efficiency, and Quality

In modern manufacturing, precision and consistency are not optional, they are essential. This is why CNC machining has become a cornerstone of high-quality production, and why Grenville Engineering continues to invest in advanced technology to meet the demands of its customers. By enhancing our capabilities in metal fabrication with cutting-edge milling equipment, we ensure every project benefits from the highest standards of accuracy, efficiency, and repeatability.

Investing in Performance: Our Hurco VM20i Machines

At the heart of our CNC machining service are two state-of-the-art Hurco VM20i vertical machining centres. These machines combine speed, precision, and versatility, allowing us to deliver complex components with minimal lead times. For our customers, this means faster turnaround, tighter tolerances, and the confidence that every part will meet exact specifications.

The Hurco VM20i offers an impressive specification. With a spindle speed of up to 12,000 RPM, X-axis travel of 1,016 mm, Y-axis travel of 508 mm, and Z-axis travel of 508 mm, it can handle a broad range of part sizes and geometries. The generous 20-tool capacity enables rapid tool changes, reducing downtime and improving overall efficiency.

What is CNC Machining?

CNC stands for Computer Numerical Control. In simple terms, it is a method of using computerised controls to operate and move machining tools such as mills, lathes, and routers. This allows parts to be produced to exact measurements repeatedly, without the inconsistencies that can occur with manual machining. The process begins with a digital design, which the CNC machine interprets to guide its movements, cutting material to the required dimensions with remarkable accuracy.

Quality You Can Measure

Our commitment to precision is reinforced by our ISO 9001 accreditation and rigorous in-house inspection processes. Every component produced undergoes thorough quality checks to ensure it meets the agreed tolerances and finish requirements. This dedication to quality control means our customers receive products that perform exactly as intended, time after time.

CNC Machining as Part of Our Complete Service

CNC machining is just one part of Grenville Engineering’s comprehensive metal fabrication services. Alongside our advanced machining capabilities, we offer laser cutting, forming, welding, and assembly, enabling us to deliver fully finished components ready for use. This integrated approach reduces the need for multiple suppliers, shortens lead times, and ensures consistent quality across every stage of production.

By combining precision machining with our extensive fabrication expertise, we are able to serve a diverse range of industries, from automotive and construction to energy and aerospace. Our customers know they can rely on us for technically challenging projects, delivered on time and to specification.
