Grenville Engineering Introduces Annual Fishing Shield
Grenville Engineering has introduced a new annual fishing event for team members and their families to enjoy a day of friendly competition and relaxation away from the workshop.
The first-ever Grenville Engineering Fishing Shield took place on Saturday, 11th October at Blake Hall Fisheries, where participants gathered at Capricious Lake for a five-hour match full of skill, laughter and great company.
Fourteen keen anglers took part, including eleven members of staff and three family members, all bringing plenty of enthusiasm (and a few tall tales!) to the water’s edge.
After an exciting day of fishing, Garry Rigby claimed first place with an impressive 29lb 3oz, followed by Isaac Fallows in second (23lb 9oz) and Dave Millward in third (19lb 8oz). Garry was presented with the Grenville Engineering Fishing Shield by Grant Barratt and will proudly hold the title until next year’s event.
The day, including prize money and lunch, was fully funded by Grenville Engineering, reflecting the company’s commitment to supporting employee wellbeing and encouraging team activities outside of work.
“It was a fantastic day – friendly, competitive and full of laughs. We’re looking forward to seeing even more of the team join us next year,” said Grant Barratt.
The fishing match now joins a growing list of social and sporting activities at Grenville, including regular golf tournaments and football events, all designed to bring colleagues together and strengthen the team spirit that runs through the business.
