£250k Investment in State-of-the-Art SmartFibre CNC Tube Laser Cutting Machine

Revolutionary Investment in Tube Laser Cutting Technology

In celebrating an impressive four decades of excellence, Grenville Engineering is taking fabrication to new heights with a significant £250k investment in the latest RVD SmartFibre CNC tube laser cutting machine from Bison Machinery. The recently acquired TF 8020.3000 model has transformed our operational dynamics and expanded our market outreach.

Those who followed our previous news may have witnessed the exciting moment when the machine was craned into the site. Since then, extensive training, tests, and fine-tuning have taken place, and we’re thrilled to announce that we are now fully up and running.

Our new SmartFibre CNC tube laser cutting machine brings remarkable capabilities, enabling the precise cutting of a diverse range of tubular profiles and sections in various lengths, diameters, materials, and wall thicknesses. This machine provides unparalleled flexibility in our manufacturing processes, from Mild Steel and Stainless Steel to Aluminium, Brass, and Copper.

Bringing this cutting-edge technology in-house is strategic, offering us greater control, flexibility, and significantly reduced lead times. Stuart Rawlinson, our sales director, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “The new fibre tube laser from Bison isn’t just a piece of equipment; it’s an absolute game-changer for our business.”

Powered by Lantek Flex3d processing and nesting software, our SmartFibre machine can produce intricate components in various profiles, including round, square, oval, and flat-sided oval. Additionally, we’ve upgraded our capabilities with the optional Lantek module, broadening functionality to process flat bars and open-sided components like angles and channels.

The machine utilises high-quality components, such as a RayTools auto-focus cutting head, Yasakawa drives, and nLIGHT laser sources, with power ratings ranging from 1.5kW to 6kW, providing operational advantages. Stuart Rawlinson highlights these benefits: “Operationally, it means greater precision, more versatility, shorter lead times, greater cost-efficiencies, and more eco-friendly processes – an exciting development for our valued customer base and partners.”

This investment aims to enhance the services provided to our current customer base and open doors to new markets and applications. We anticipate improved efficiency, expanded capabilities, maximised productivity, faster lead times, and lower costs as critical outcomes of this strategic investment.

As our newly acquired machine ramps up to full operational capacity, we foresee the creation of fresh employment opportunities, which could manifest as internal career development for current team members or the exciting prospect of welcoming new talent into our growing Grenville team. Beyond technological advancements, we remain committed to cultivating a thriving work environment and fostering career growth within our expanding operations.

Committed to progress and staying competitive, Grenville Engineering’s investment in cutting-edge technology reflects our dedication to embracing future advancements and meeting the evolving needs of the industry. We remain positioned as a leader in precision engineering, ready to make significant strides in the market with our latest acquisition.
